Vers 18h05 le 3 septembre 2025, une voiture d’Ascensor da Glória, un funiculaire reliant le Bairro Alto à la place des Restauradores à Lisbonne, au Portugal, a déraillé et s’est écrasée, faisant 16 morts et 23 blessés. Selon les rapports, le wagon se trouvait au sommet de la colline lorsqu’il a déraillé et a accéléré de manière incontrôlable avant de heurter un bâtiment près du bas.

At around 18:05 on 3 September 2025, a car of Ascensor da Glória, a funicular connecting Bairro Alto and Restauradores Square in Lisbon, Portugal, derailed and crashed, resulting in 16 deaths and 23 injuries. Reports say the car was at the top of the hill when it derailed, and sped uncontrollably downhill before hitting a building near the bottom.
