Dear Members of the Winston Salem Shag Club.
I would like to respectfully petition all members of the Winston Salem Shag club to move
from the Elks Lodge back to the Midway Event Center.
I know there can be much said on what has taken place in the past but my aim
is set on the future of the club. Please forward this petion
to all members of the WS Shag club for consideration to vote YES. Zeno who is the manager for Midway Event Center is sharing his contact information
so to be transparent and communicative about these proposals in this petition. He has added a good number of proposals.

Im asking all WS Shag Club members who are in favor to move our club back to Midway to vote YES on this petition within 15 days after recieving this email. As of
the present there is no end date for this petition.
The YES count will be compared to the whole number of members of the Shag Club to determine if there is at least 50 + percent who desire to move back to Midway.

Midways new proposals-
1-Come back from 325 to 300 dollars per weekly event.
2- All proceeds from 50/50 tickets are under the authority of the Winston Salem Shag Club. Midway would not have any part of the 50/50 ticket drawings.
3-No requirement to take anything from any head count coming through the door- Midway would not take part of any money coming through the door.
Only 300 dollars for the weekly event charge.
4-Unlike the Elks Lodge , there are main highway/s between Salisbury, Lexington,, High Point , Greensoboro , Winston Salem ( and all towns north and west
of there) to Midway Event Center , – Insterstate 40, US Hwy 52 / I-485 are well maintained and provide easy access to the shopping center and Midway Music Hall.
Parking lot is all on one level with no steep areas.
5- Gas Station, restaurants and even Dollar General are within sight of the Midway Event Center.
6- Elks Lodge is too small for the Winston Salem Shag Club and has no room to grow there. There is no opportunity to grow at Elks Lodge .Without room to
grow is not good for the survival of the club. During the time when the Winston Salem Shag Club was meeting at Midway Music Hall the club grew to be the
3rd largest in the whole SOS Association. The club has lost numerous members that did not renew their memberships. Having an adequate meeting / shagging
space should help with the club's growth and survival.
7- No one should have to restrict their dancing area to a minimum to allow others to dance. Your dancing area should be comfortable with enough area to
move freely. Nor having adequate space on the dance floor is often the case at the Elks Lodge. I myself have watched many dancers bump into other dancers.
Sometimes its time consuming to get to the dance floor because of limited space. Midway Music Hall has a very nice and spacious dance floor and table area
that can accommodate many shaggers at the same time with no restrictions. This provides opportunities for other clubs to participate with the WS Shaggers at
any time. As experienced, Midway has more than enough room for all shaggers and areas for line dancing. It also includes enough room for country dancing
while shaggers dance.. Midway has very clean and adequate restroom facilities and multiple restrooms in 3 different suites that are accessible..
8- No stairs or elevators are needed at Midway./ Easy access to interior of building. Ramps are at each entrance area and there are no stairs used anywhere
for the entrances and exits. All exits are clearly marked and well lit in the case of an emergency. Parking lot is nice and level with no steep inclines.
Handicap parking is well marked and is located in the closest spaces to the building.Very easy , well lit and adequate parking at Midway Midway Town Center
added 4 more lights about a year ago to add more light in the lower sections of the parking lot.
9-There is always food available at Midway unlike Elks Lodge. At Thunder Road Bar and Grill, and concession center a large variety of food is available
for purchase. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase at Thunder Road Bar and Grill and may be brought into Midway Music Hall.
10- " AS I UNDERSTAND " The Oldies Party at the Clemmons Gym and Christmas Party costs At Elks Lodge are exuberant compared to what Midway has charged in
the past for these parties.
11- Cell phone service for " many of us " is poor in the basement of the Elks Lodge.
12- AND Finally- The Elks Lodge does not allow people under 21 in their club because it’s private. Children ( minors / young adults under 21 ) are needed to
keep the club alive. t's the type of license that Elks Lodge has....they are a private club... It's not the same as Midway's. Midway's license is
in conjunction with their restaurant and food service. Midway is open to the publc. No minors are allowied in the Elks Lodge bar area after 6:00 pm. Junior
shaggers can come dance but must leave by 9:00. These are Elks rules Minors are always without question allowed in the Midway Dance Area. Our club must have
a place for those under 21 to dance and learn the dance to stay alive.
These proposals and important things to consider to help keep the club thriving are the reasons I am petitioning all members of the Winston Salem Shag Club
to move back to Midway Music Hall.
