One of the best decisions we made for this trip was to get reservations for a charter flight out of Gunnison Municipal Airport to photograph the mountainous terrain northeast of Gunnison. There was some incredibility rugged areas with snow still on some of the mountain peaks. My oldest son Paul suggested we do this and he made the reservations weeks before our trip. We chartered a two hour flight but the views were so spectacular, we extended our flight while flying for another hour. The young lady who was our pilot did and exceptional job and was fantastic to work with including arranging the windows so they would stay open and not hinder our photography efforts. This was not an inexpensive adventure but sometimes you just have to go for it. The memories were priceless.
