Harold Douglas Buchanan (Doug)
   January 30, 1939 - April 30, 2024

   It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Harold Douglas Buchanan on April 30,2024 at home with family after a short battle with cancer.

   Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, son of the late Dorothy (knapper) and Harold Buchanan, he is also predeceased by his siblings Gerald, Albert and Betty.

   Family was a very important part of Doug's life. He was a wonderful husband to the late Johanne(Hansen) for 60 years. Proud father to daughters Lynda (Glenn Strasdin) and Joni Buchanan. Loving Papa to Riley, Ryan, Kelsey, Morgan and Shelby. Brother in law to Karen Hansen and Teresa Buchanan. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

   Doug was fortunate to have a career that he loved with Transport/Nav Canada for over 55 years that he took a tremendous amount of pride in. He was very physically active his whole life, an avid golfer and squash player right up till his 85th year. Nothing was too challenging for him.

   Those who were lucky enough to know Doug were touched by his warm smile and positive outlook on life. The family would like to thank Dr Marina Lozano for her exceptional medical care.

   A celebration of Doug's life will be held by his family June 8th 4:00pm at Moose McGuire's 3320 McCarthy rd where we will raise a glass and toast the wonderful life of a great man.
