This non-biting midge was sitting on a leaf in the cool morning waiting for some sun to warm it up.

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

It seemed curious that the front pair of legs were held in that odd position.

Fantastic sharp close-up image Trent.

Stunning shot (again)! The midge is beautiful, particularly with those big feathery antennae; it is likely in the family Chironomidae. No idea why the front legs are held this way. There is still much to learn about the Super Family Chironomoidea. V
