Mexican Sage flowers are a favorite of hummingbirds, so it's fun the stake out the plants and try to catch the hummers feeding. One of the most distinctive features of these tiny birds is their rapid wing movements. When hovering they can beat their wings up to 200 times per second. Ultra fast shutter speeds can help to freeze the motion, whereas a slower shutter speed like I used here can provide a nice motion blur to the wings.
