Castelmezzano (Castelmezzano dialect: Castrėmėnząnė) is a town and comune in the province of Potenza, in the Southern Italian region of Basilicata. Dolomiti lucane is a mountain range in the region of Basilicata, southern Italy. Located in the Southern Apennines and dominating the Basento Valley, the range is at the heart of the Gallipoli Cognato Piccole Dolomiti Lucane Regional Park, which also include the Gallipoli-Cognato forest. The range is named "Dolomiti" because of similarities to peaks in the Dolomites in northern Italy. The range was formed 15 million years ago.
