My wife and I drove to Red Slough WMA and hiked two miles into the center of this area. We saw and heard more birds than one could imagine.
When we left, we headed out route 259 heading west; spotted 18 of these brightly colored ducks in a farmers cattle pen - I backed up and took this image out the passenger side window.
The two gray lines are barbed wire. This species of duck is a lifer for me.
