I mentioned a few weeks ago that the yellow crowned night herons had returned to the pine tree and built a nest. When we went out this morning there were three broken eggs which I assumed indicated the hatchlings are up in the nest. I can't see them from the ground, but I can see an adult up there. The safety glasses are there to give perspective on the size.
