International Chihuahua Appreciation Day was created in 2010 by Nadia Alterio, a former Miss British Columbia, to honor her own beloved Chihuahua. She wanted a special day to celebrate the unique charm and personality of Chihuahuas, and it quickly became an annual event for dog lovers worldwide!
This day is all about recognizing how loyal, lively, and lovable Chihuahuas are.

My girls above are helping with my Spring planting.
They like to always be near to me, no matter what I'm doing.
One couldn't ask for a more devoted companion. I appreciate each one for who they are as individuals and for all they add to my life. There is no other Breed like Chihuahuas.
Because they were moving around quickly & freely, my getting all three of the girls in the same frame was a bit of a challenge. This was their day as free spirits. Not my day as a photographer. They were having fun running around & checking everything out. I was planting annuals. Nevertheless, they did keep coming back to me from time to time. So, I was able to get this casual group shot in memory of the day. Bella is off to hunt for groundhogs. Chile is headed to smell some more flowers.
