A tiny bit of a tree's top, a large low-hanging cloud formation, and a distant jet. Photographed under sweltering 96 degree skies with brisk winds from the east, leading to jet trails that basically, do not linger in the air very long in such extremely hot air,nor form long trails that later form into clouds. I included the tiny tree top just as a scale item. Man, it was HOT out on the deck, with swirling, gusty winds of from 15-29 mph. In 1958 it got to 92 degrees on this same date for the all-time record high...somehow this photo just seemed appropriate for a hot, awful day with both air and wind that seemed to suck the life out of everything. Even the jet trails aloft.
