A very rare and small species found under conifers in the western PNW lowlands and montane habitat, this fungus features caps that are under an inch and mottled with gray and white splotches. Caps are umbilicate and shallowly depressed to funnel-shaped, with inrolled margins. The gills are decurrent, fairly close, and white with short gills in one to two series. The stipes are tan and feature numerous rhizomorphs that penetrate the surrounding substrate of conifer duff. There is no odor and the taste is bitter.
