The reference for this portrait was taken in The BlackHawk Hotel in Black Hawk, CO.
When we first visited it around 1982 it was a lovely little tourist town
filled with great shops, hand-made candy shops, hats and boots, books, saloons,
restaurants, and other novelty stores. Then they legalized gambling in Colorado.
The next time we visited, it was ruined. All the little shops had thrown out
their wares and now offered only slot machines and other gambling crap.
Way to go, Colorado... you ruined a great little town.
