Fantastic! I love the amazing depth and repeating themes with the person relaxing and focusing the eye on both her(?) and the beautiful arches beyond. ~BV~
Another great portrait and setting, Alain. This is an event I'd love to witness and a city I'd love to visit but, sadly, I don't think I ever will, so your photos are a joy to view.
La bauta is this kind of mask that can conceal the idendity. It can be worn by both genders. My wild guess is that this is a petite lady cross-dressed in a handsome costume for a man. Somehow this way of disguise is not as exciting as she has expected, and she's here to cool herself off, not knowing if she has made the wrong decision, or thinking of what to wear the next year.....
Whether my assumption is correct or far from the fact, I love this photo, especially it's taken from this carnival character's side, not only showing the profile of the bauta, but also exaggerating the whole view of another section of the empty arcade, symbolizing a continuation of loneliness. Excellent mood contrast to the bright red of the costume. ~VvV~
