Our computer on trips is a Lenovo Yoga 7. It has been reliable and it is compact. I think it is a 13 inch version. As you might imagine, we encounter WiFi situations in hotels that are often less than optimum. About all I want each day is to upload some photos to pBase and Facebook. There are lots of people chewing up bandwidth by watching YouTube videos. This was particularly noticeable on Easter Island.
One thing I don't do on a trip is install updates. Adobe updates can be huge so downloading can be an all night exercise. Additionally, if the WiFi poops out in the middle of the update you are screwed. Besides, the version I have installed works just fine so it is a good idea to leave well enough alone. So this afternoon I decided to run updates on my Adobe software. The Photoshop update failed, for whatever reason I don't know. I ran it again and it was fine. Doing updates on my home network is the best idea. BTW - we don't do iPhone updates as well.
