A rare calm scene of an iconic image of Venice, as well as an extraordinary portrait for a carnival. There is not even a gondola on the canal. The Bridge of Sighs hanging quietly in the shade, and her gold reflective hat and gold lace eyemask in the subtle highlight, all create a striking contrast. With her eyes looking up, and her hands holding a praying gesture, I can see Annie's face expressing hope, courage and confidence, behind the mask. ~VvV~
