After several days of cold and wet weather, on this 22° F morning, hiked the northwest primitive trail of Lake Frederick.
This hardy male kingfisher has stayed with us so far this winter. Caught him perched on the opposite shoreline.
Where Crooked Run flows into Lake Frederick there is still enough open water (mostly on the shorelines) to provide food for this diver.
