On May 1st my account will be up for annual renewal.
Due to recent actions to the 'global' economic situation and its affect in 'disrupting' 'my' economy, I will be carefully considering my renewal options after 18 years posting and interacting here.

Over the years I have met and engaged with many great individuals - using the word ‘individual’ specifically, purposely, and non-affiliated - but I am left with a difficult decision.

(Thank-you for all the kind words and those of persuasion.)

Yes Glenn I see your point, but as others have said it will not make a big difference, and the friends we all have on here are some of the best we have. It would be sad to see you go and there are other thinks we can do as Canadians to weather this storm in the USA.
We can still keep in touch though e-mails etc.

I admit, I had similar thoughts, not wanting any money to go south of here. But there are so many wonderful American individuals on PBase who are also being caught up in this lunacy through no fault of their own. It is a sad time when our two countries are being manipulated ruthlessly by a self-glorying megalomaniac. I hope you stay, if only to keep the corridors open between like minded Canadians and Americans. But believe me, I understand your comments very well....

Glenn I understand how you feel and, believe me, the majority of us here on PBase are just as appalled and depressed about it as I assume you are, but I would urge you not to quit PBase. First of all, it will have absolutely no impact on the idiots who voted for these incompetent fascists or the incompetent fascists themselves. 2nd of all, it would be hurting you and us, your friends down here and elsewhere in the world and lastly, it would be giving them another small win, tiny though it may be. These days, photography, my friends and PBase are the only things keeping me sane.

sorry to read this Glenn..for sure the Yanks have blundered in electing ruthless billionaires, with their simple-minded spokesperson lashing out in all directions, including against long-time friend and partner Canada...still, I would posit defiance as opposed to resignation...scum often rises to the top, but then it is all the easier to sweep away...with luck some sense will return next election...in the meantime, let us not bow to white trash America...better to stick than twist in response to current challenmges..
