TO BE A POET
To be a poet is to be taller, to be greater than men!
To bite like someone who kisses!
To be a beggar and give like someone
who is King of the Kingdom of Here and Beyond Pain!
To have the splendor of a thousand desires
And not even know what you desire!
To have a flaming star inside,
To have claws and wings of a condor!
To be hungry,
To thirst for Infinity!
For a helmet, the mornings of gold and satin...
It is to condense the world in a single cry!
And it is to love you, like this, madly...
It is to be soul and blood and life in me
And to tell everyone singing it!
