We go grocery shopping after church on Sunday. First stop is always Kroger. There usually seems to be some deal that catches Ginny's interest. After that we go to HEB where there are always things being sampled to the customers. Today it was a chicken and dumpling soup which was very tasty. So we picked up the Hatch tortilla soup starter mix and some canned biscuit dough to give it a try. I had already thawed out four chicken thighs because I had another idea in mind. So back at the house I boiled up the thighs and separated the meat from the skin and bones. I ended up with some very tasty chicken broth which was needed for the recipe. Voila - a tasty bowl of green chili chicken and dumplings. It made a huge batch, so guess what is on the menu for lunch tomorrow.
