The "Acueducto del Águila" is one of the most impressive constructions in the town of Nerja. The bridge of the eagle was built in the 19th century with the intention of carrying water to the mills of the Fábrica de Maro.Located in the well-known Barranco de la Coladilla, on the outskirts of the centre of Nerja, the Acueducto del Águila is a work of art composed of 4 arched floors and 38 superimposed brick arches. The roofs of the 4 floors have entrance shrines, and the central floor has an engraved inscription that says "Pura y Limpia Concepción".
