The 2025 KC Blizzard 1-05-25

When the snow fell, it came down extremely heavily, as seen above.
When the winds blew at 45 MPH, the scene then became a white out.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An Emergency Alert was issued by the Kansas Department of Transportation for drivers to stay home due to a blizzard that has caused dangerous conditions. The Emergency Alert was issued around 6 p.m. on Sunday. It reads:
“Unless it is an emergency, please do not drive on Kansas roads. It is very dangerous for you and for our emergency services employees. Stay home. Stay safe. Many Kansas state and federal highways are closed due to very dangerous conditions. These conditions will continue into Monday, Jan. 6, 2025.”

KDOT has closed all highways in northeastern Kansas, with I-70 closed.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Travelers trying to get in and out of Kansas City International Airport are facing have long delays. All flights are canceled at KCI Airport during winter storm. KCI Airport closed for several hours Saturday afternoon because ice accumulated quickly. Sunday, during the blizzard, the airport itself was again open, but no flights were going out or coming in.

Great shot to show how heavy the snow is (also makes a great image). Your area really got walloped by the storm. Is this typical?
