Number 22 out of Top 25 -Purgatory Chasm from Sachuest beach. First light hitting it with the beautiful hints of orange. Some factoids: 1) Puritans named it a Chasm becuase of it being a gorge without water. 2) The Whitin Machine works owned it to 1919 when it became a state park. 3). It is considered by Geologist to be example of erosion and compression; 4). ).25 miles long and 70 feet deep.
