Artist Sveva Caetani (1917-1994) is known for the strangeness of her life story rather than her dynamic art. She was the illegitimate daughter of Leone Caetani, a Roman prince, duke and Islamic scholar, and his mistress Ofelia Fabiani.

Adriana A. Davies, Order of Canada and Cavaliere d’Italia recipient, was born in Italy, grew up in Canada and has BA and MA degrees from the University of Alberta, and a doctorate from the University of London, England.
