shorter days

Valley of the Gods, Utah

there is something to be said for winter's shorter days, as sunrise (in this case) comes at a convenient hour, and sunset is also early, leaving time to make it to the nearest microbrewery well before closing time

note that the image is not so sharp, due to fierce winds buffeting camera and tripod

A beautiful composition, made even better with the slight softness due to the wind.

Great shot David, despite the wind. The wind that day was definitely memorable. Luckily, the great light more than made up for it. ~BV~

A beautiful compostion in wonderful light with a mystique all its own. I agree, late sunrise/early sunset are quite advantageous for a photographer.
