An uncommon species is this Ramaria that grows on well-rotted conifer wood. Found mainly in coastal forests, it reaches a height of about 4 inches, forking several times. Fresh specimens show vinaceous to pinkish gray to reddish gray colors. The tips are forked, seen well in this photo. Crowns are rather sparse. The branches have a leathery toughness. Handsome though it is, the fruit bodies are bitter and inedible.
