07 Nightfall on First Snowfall

Boulder

Yesterday saw Boulder's first major snowfall of the winter, so I went out with my camera for a walk a little before sunset. I was heading home just after sunset down this path, when I saw the streetlamps all come on within a couple of minutes of each other.

Alastair I’m so happy you’ve posted this spectacular scene from your neighborhood. Love that deep amber color of the (I assume) low pressure sodium vapor lights. LPS lights are commonly used near observatories if you have one nearby since they don’t interfere with the visible light spectrum like other lights do. Paul

Quite a beautiful winter scene, one from my past. Though I have seen this at Christmas when we go back to MSP to see the kids and grandkids. Jim
