Looking out

It's a dull damp day so Bella has to content herself
with looking out the window.
I need new photo editing software. I'm using my son's old laptop which came with Photoshop installed.
However, I need to update the OS and unfortunately the old version of Photoshop is no longer supported.
Downloaded a free trial of ProPad - it seems quite good and easy to use but unfortunately it strips the exif files.

It looks like it did a great job. A cute shot of Bella.

By the way, a video from Deke ("Mr Photoshop") McClelland comparing the two:

I'd suggest taking a look at Affinity Photo V2, available for both PC and Mac. In terms of power it is similar to Photoshop, though I grudgingly admit that PS is still at the front of the pack. However Affinity is closing in, rapidly. A lot of pros switched to it earlier this year when Adobe pulled that disgusting stunt of trying to change their T&Cs to help themselves to de facto joint ownership of anything that you process through PS. Then they tried to gaslight us into saying "Oh, no, we didn't say THAT" (they did), "it's just that pesky law, it's soooo complex and we were just trying to HELP you" (they weren't). User outrage was such that they had to back down but Affinity put on a sale (of their PERMANENT licences; no monthly wallet gouge) and took a chunk of Adobe's market share.
I have Affinity but haven't moved (yet) because I have too much PS knowledge that I have to relearn.
The only downside of Affinity is that it doesn't have a decent asset management system. Even after I move I'll still use Bridge (which I believe is free) for that because it's the least worst asset manager I know due to its metadata templates and easy batch renaming. Do NOT settle for anything that leaves you with less EXIF; I learnt that lesson the hard way and am still working through embedding description and title data (and in some cases keyword data) in tens of years of images.
Bella probably has her eyes on a copy of Affinity...
