This image was the first image taken to locate the comet. The comet was not visible to the unaided eye just yet as my eyes had not adjusted to the dark. Sky Safari 7 indicated brightness of +4.5. Just visible. So a long exposure was required that would show the comet's location. Expectation to be in the centre of the frame with data from Sky Safari 7 and Apple's Compass app was correct. I did not bring a tracker on this weekend as the cloud forecast was not good for astrophotography. Fortunately it was!!!
The stars have trails due to the long exposure time but I like it for the colour in the sky plus the foreground. I managed to drop my 40-150mm f2,8 lens. Sadly it was not a good evening photographically. By the time I had my mind sorted out, the light had changed. I had unsuccessfully tried to photograph A3 T/A earlier in Sydney, but too much light pollution and worse, way too much cloud during the period of visibility
