It has been war on ants here at the house for the last couple months. They appear singly inside the house and you can never find where they get in. Outside the house, they were present in droves. In the past I would put out my favorite ant dope (Terex, a solution of boric acid and sugar) and get some to come out and eat it and crawl away and die. This bug dope is cool because the ants eat from it so you can see what is going on.

So I started putting it in places outside where there were lines of ants marching in both directions. The first ant autobahn I attacked was completely destroyed in a few days. The ants would gather around the drops and eat. The second big one I attacked was up and down a downspout. There were hundreds, thousands constantly on the move. I started the treatment. I had to replenish the and dope several times each day because it was getting consumed rapidly by the little buggers. After a couple weeks there were no ants anywhere. Very successful.

I have a few more spots which I am working on, but the hordes of ants have disappeared from around the house. Todays picture is of a bunch of ants chowing down on the poison. When I started treating this spot there would be dozens of ants gathered around the drops of poison.
