As good as it gets

The aurora from tonight's severe geomagnetic storm, with predicted mid-latitude reach.

Was watching a real-time aurora feed from Banff, canada on youtube and it was in progress in the twilight skies. So, drove to the baylands and pointed the camera due north and it showed a nice band of red.
Never saw it visually.

From the Sunnyvale Baylands.

Amazing that far south. Nice work!

The fact you had such colour that high off the horizon speaks to the strength of this past storm.

In an area where the aura borealis is rare, this is still quite the display.

Still nice with that long exposure.

it is subtle for sure, but your delicate touch captured an impresssion of the scene...it is often interesting what a long exposure picks up, usually more than the eye sees in any moment..
