Stream bed at Parfrey's Glen tilted around 16°

The glen consists primarily of Cambrian sandstone,
deposited around 500 million years ago when the area
was part of a shallow sea. The glen was carved out when
glacial meltwater from the last ice age eroded the bedrock.
