After the untimely death of her brother at the age of 22 Aaltje de Jong continued his recently established photography studio at the address Nieuwe Stad 53 (Smalle zijde) from 1895 up to 1934. After some years she opened extra branches in Heerenveen (1901 Bij de Grote Kerk, 1910 Op de Fok) en Sneek (1902 Kleinzand 28, 1930 Kleinzand 30). Since this CDV only mentions the branche in Heerenveen it can be tentatively dated to 1901.
