The Moszna Castle

Moszna, Poland

The Moszna Castle located in the small village of Moszna, is an excellent example of romantic fairy-tale and eclectic architecture.

The central part of the castle is an old baroque palace built in 1768, which was partially destroyed by fire in 1896.
After reconstruction in the same year, a new eastern Neogothic wing and the orangery were added in 1900.
In 1912-1914 the western wing was built in the Neo-Renaissance style.

"Fairy tale" was indeed the expression that came to mind when I saw the thumbnail. Places like these always look charming, but I can't imagine living in one; the internal architecture would be an incredibly inefficient use of space. Though plonking a chair and a library in one of the towers and just sitting there reading or looking over the countryside wouldn't be a bad way to spend an afternoon. I had to look up "orangery" because here in 'Straya it's safe for plants to be outdoors all year round. "Winter cold" is 5 degrees.
