The whole day was spent on the Rocky Mountaineer train from Whistler, BC to Quesnel, BC. Because of the fires up in the Jasper area, there was quite a bit of smoke which made for hazy viewing. Still it was interesting for me to look out and watch the scenery go by. When we headed out from Whistler about 7:00 am there was a nice sunrise going on. It happens everyday about this time. Because the train is moving you have precious little time to compose and take pictures. Snap away and hope for the best. This is one of Ginny's photos of the sunrise. The sun is exceptionally red because of the smoke and haze.
