This famous tree tunnel is in Point Reyes National Seashore, very close to Drake's Estero trail.
These Monterey Cypress trees were planted about 1930, leading to the historic KPH Maritime Radio Receiving Station of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA).
The radio equipment in the Receiving Station, ship-to-shore Morse communications, and teletype — some of it dating to the World War II-era — remains intact,
has been restored and made functional, and is used to broadcast on numerous frequencies, including KPH. (from the Point Reyes National Seashore website)
It was quite busy - many tourists from all over the world, guess they stop as part of their tour.
There were fewer people as I was walking back out of the tunnel, so this was taken facing away from the radio station.
