Mosque in the Palace Gardens

Schwetzingen, Germany

Unexpectedly, we found a Turkish garden with a mosque designed by Nicolas de Pigage.
Built in 1779–1793, it is the oldest and largest structure of its kind in Germany.
The Schwetzingen Park Mosque was not intended as an actual place for Muslim prayer.

How interesting! A great photo of this building, obviously just an addition to the theme of the garden.
