As I mentioned a few days ago, we got the images back from Kim, the photographer who did a very good job directing the session and providing the images. My quick pass through identified the family photo I posted last Sunday. There are 120 processed photos (jpegs) and 520 raw (CR3) images. Additionally, we had over 200 images taken during the anniversary party and dinner. That is a lot of photos. My usual method is to rename all the photos to include a date and sequence number. Then I can sort by capture time. Well, the capture times of the processed photos were when they were processed, several days afterward. I modified the jpeg dates to be after the session but before the party therefore getting all 880 images in some kind of useful sequence.

I had put together a shot list for the session which included 11 combinations. I used those categories to keyword as well as the usual who, what, when, where. So now what? Well, I went through the jpegs and colored the interesting ones red. I did the same for the raw files and colored them green. That gave about a hundred for the short list. So I started going through those, coloring the finalists yellow. This is going to take a while but at least I have a usable methodology.
