These were the tallest skyscapers in Malaysia for many years (and even the tallest in the world between 1998-2004), until they were surpassed by the TRX Tower in 2019 and the soon-to-be-completed Merdeka 118 expected to be opened by end of this year or early next year.

But many people still consider the Petronas Twin Towers as the iconic building of Malaysia. Designed by Argentine-American architect Cesar Pelli, the distinctive postmodern architectural design of the building made it one of the most stunning landmarks in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia.

The twin towers rise 88 storeys to a height of 451.9 metres, and are connected by a link bridge at the 41st and 42nd storeys.

The building was used as one of the filming locations for the movie Entrapment starring Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
