The New River is one of the oldest rivers in the United States and has the distinction of flowing from the south in Virginia to the north into West Virginia. Pearisburg, Virginia is a short drive from West Virginia and this image was photographed on an early foggy morning. When I arrived at this location, everything was covered with a dense fog but after waiting for an hour the fog began lifting. This location deserves a few return trips under different weather conditions and with seasonal changes. For those who like to fish, the New River has a reputation for world class smallmouth fishing as well as white water rafting especially in areas of West Virginia.
