Direct flight from Perth to London, 17 hours with a bit of sleep along the way.

That reminds me of a friend of nine who flew from London to Australia around 20 years ago using Airtours with a 757 100% cattle class!

Oh dear, I hope you were able to do at the very least Premium Economy, better still Business, especially since it's a B787 instead of an A380. I've toyed with the idea of doing either QF9 or QF5 (direct to Roma) next time I go home, but the idea of going non-stop in Cattle Class for 16 hours is not one that I can come at easily. Good luck!
