Northern Snakehead

Channa argus

Native to China, North Korea, and Southern Siberia, the northern snakehead was introduced to the United States in the 1800s.
The northern snakehead is a predator that competes with and eats native species for food. It can survive in a wide range of environmental conditions, including water with low oxygen levels.
The northern snakehead can double its population in as little as 15 years. A female can lay up to 100,000 eggs a year.
