We were having steaks for lunch. One of our favorite meals. I decided this time to have a go at making a sauce to go with the steak. I learned a method from our friend Mickey Cameron (a formally trained chef) that involves sautéing some minced onions and garlic in the pan juices from the steaks after adding some oil. Then I add some water and beef paste and reducing the resultant mixture. At just the right time I pour in a couple shots of bourbon then light the vapors. What fun! Finish it off with a little butter and you have a very tasty sauce.
