This impressive motorway bridge crosses the Douro and connects Porto (more precisely the Arrábida district) with Vila Nova de Gaia. It is named after the adjacent district of Porto and is the last bridge over the Douro before it flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The next bridge upstream is the Ponte Dom Luís I, which is located in the historic old town of Porto. The roadway is 493 meters long in total. The Ponte da Arrábida is not only an important transport route, but also an architectural gem that connects the two cities in an impressive way.
