First generation of jet bombers launched in 1955. This example is ex-RAF and acquired in 2001 by the Temora Aviation Museum. It was repainted in RAAF 2 Squadron from the era of operational work in Vietnam.
The explosive charge start system has been updated to an electric start system to reduce operational costs
Australia built 48 for the RAAF served in Malaya and Vietnam in precision bombing duties.
