After a wonderful breakfast at our B&B, we drove from Traverse City north on state route 37 to Mission Point Lighthouse on Grand Traverse Bay (Lake Michigan).
Was in the trees above the parking area as we were leaving. I still believe an area needs old-growth Oak Trees in order to support this species of woodpecker.
