The Malerwinkel is a popular viewing point on the north bank of Lake Königssee. The view from the Malerwinkel over the Königssee, which is otherwise difficult to access, extends over the pilgrimage church of St. Bartholomä to the Schönfeldpitze in the Steinernes Meer.

The mighty rocks of the Berchtesgaden Alps fall almost vertically down to the shore of Lake Königssee, which measures 192 meters at its deepest point. If you want to discover the impressive natural scenery around Bavaria's most famous mountain lake, you have to take the boat - and you will hear the echo.
