Shock as female policewoman suicide

Authorities are investigating the circumstances behind the suicide of a popular female policewoman.

Ai Sotheara, 30 years old, with the rank of Lieutenant General, Deputy Chief of Population Statistics, Stung Treng City, leaped from the Cambodia-China Friendship Bridge or Sekong Bridge in Sre Po village, Srah Russey commune, Stung Treng city at 2:15 pm on May 15. 2024.

Her body was found by authorities yesterday.

Ms Ai was reported to be a popular and well respected officer and authorities are said to be baffled as why she would choose to end her life.
