The Volhyn massacre was an anti-Polish ethnic cleansing conducted by Ukrainian nationalists against the Polish minority in Volhynia, Eastern Galicia, in 1943-1945.
The peak of the massacre took place in summer 1943.
The killings were exceptionally brutal and targeted primarily women and children, and resulted in up to 100,000 deaths.
