The Walberla (Ehrenbürg) is a striking table mountain in Franconian Switzerland near Erlangen. The mountain has a double peak. The summit in the north is called Walberla (523 m), the summit in the south is called Rödenstein (512 m), and the entire mountain is called Ehrenbürg. In common parlance, everything is simply called the Walberla. It is sometimes seen as the gateway to Franconian Switzerland.
The mountain is made of solid dolomite rock and the summit is completely forest-free. The summit plateau therefore offers a great panoramic view of the Regnitz, Ehrenbach and Wiesentals and is a popular excursion destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts.
